Museo Nacional Arqueología, Antropología e Historia Perú/MNAAH (Plaza Bolívar, Pueblo Libre, Lima) – founded in 1826, this is Peru’s oldest state museum. Housed in a Spanish colonial era mansion, this museum boasts a vast collection of artifacts that go back thousands of years before Christ. An array of items is on display here – from construction tools to arrows, religious sculptures, colorful ceramics, mummified remains, ancient textiles, and artwork from the Spanish colonial years. Admission: S/. 10 (adult), S/. 5 (university students), S/. 1 (children). Hours: 9 am – 5 pm (Tuesday – Saturday), 9 am – 4 pm (Sundays & holidays).
